Presenting Highland Square's New Grocery Store... In Rittman

This is the IGA opened in Rittman, Ohio after Bob Foutty of the Freshway market got fed up with Albrecht's games. With the help of Rittman town leaders that care about the needs of their residents, this store was opened in just a few months. It has a deli, bakery and stays quite busy. A hot dog cart sits out front where customers were offered special deals such as a hot dog, bag of chips and a pop for 50 cents. When we told some local residents the story of Bob Foutty originally wanting to open a store in Highland Square, one woman quickly responded, "You can't have him, Bob is ours!" She went on to say how much business has increase at her salon next door since the grocery store was opened.

Albrecht and the City of Akron can talk and talk about the Fouttys and other grocers not being able to make the financial commitment to open a grocery store in Highland Square, but we think that a picture speaks a thousand words.
